Echocardiography is an ultrasound examination of the size, movement and pumping function of the heart, as well as the function of the valves. You will be examined shirtless, lying on your left side on a table. A biomedical analyst will press a small rod-shaped ultrasound transducer with gel against your chest. We look at the heart from several different angles/points on the chest.

Time required: approximately 30-45 minutes.

Preparation: None.

The results of the examination will be sent to your doctor.

Stress Echocardiography is a test that measures heart function under stress. You will have an incision in your arm and a medication is given that increases your heart rate. Ultrasound contrast medium is also routinely given to obtain better image quality. You will then be examined shirtless, lying on your left side on a table. An ultrasound transducer with gel will be pressed against your chest and the heart will be examined from several different angles/points on the chest.

Time required: approx. 60 min

Preparation: You may not smoke during the examination. Refrain from caffeinated drinks, such as coffee, tea, energy drinks, coca-cola or similar 24 hours before the examination. Refrain from beta-blocking drugs and angina medications, according to the list attached to your invitation.

The results of the examination will be sent to your doctor.

The purpose of the examination is to assess the function of the heart during physical exertion. You will have ECG electrodes on your chest and pedal on a test bike while the ECG is recorded and blood pressure is measured continuously.
After finishing work, you will rest for a short while while the ECG recording continues. After completing the test, you will have the opportunity to shower.

Preparations:
– You should take your medications as usual before the examination.
– Avoid eating a large meal later than 60 minutes before the examination.
– Bring shorts or thin pants, sneakers or similar and a towel for the shower.

Time required: approximately 45 minutes.

The results of the examination will be sent to your doctor.

The purpose of the examination is to assess the electrical activity of the heart when you are at rest. You will be examined lying on a table, ten ECG electrodes are placed on the chest, each arm and ankle. The electrodes capture and record the electrical activity of the heart. It is important that you relax and lie still so that we get the best ECG recording possible.

Time required: approximately 15 minutes.

Preparation: Avoid applying skin cream the morning before the examination as it makes it more difficult to attach the ECG electrodes to your body.

The results of the examination will be sent to your doctor.

You will first lie down for ten minutes and your pulse and blood pressure will be measured. You will then stand up for ten minutes, during which your pulse and blood pressure will be measured.

Time required: approximately 30 minutes.

Preparations: None.

The results of the examination will be sent to your doctor.

This long-term ECG recording should last 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 7 days.
The examination aims to record the electrical activity of the heart over a longer continuous period.

This examination includes two visits:

1. The first time is for fitting and instructions. You will have electrodes on your chest and a small ECG device will be connected to these electrodes. Time required for fitting: approximately 30 minutes.

Preparations for the first visit: Please shower before the examination, as you are not allowed to shower during the registration period. Avoid applying skin cream so that the electrodes can stick to your body.

2. The second time is for returning the equipment to our reception at the time stated in the invitation.
NOTE! It is important that you leave the equipment on time. Another patient will have it after you.
The results will be analyzed and answers will be sent to your doctor.

This examination aims to measure how blood pressure varies over a 24-hour period.

This examination includes two visits:

1. The first time is for fitting and instructions regarding the examination. You will be given a blood pressure cuff around your arm and a blood pressure monitor. During the 24-hour period, your blood pressure will be measured automatically at regular intervals. Time required for fitting: approximately 30 minutes.

Preparations for the examination: Please shower before coming to the examination. During the registration period, you should live as usual but do not shower.

2. The second time is for returning the equipment. The equipment is returned to our reception at the time stated in the invitation. It is important that you leave the equipment on time! Another patient will have it after you.

The purpose of the examination is to see any changes or narrowing in the neck vessels.

You will be examined lying on a table. An ultrasound transducer with gel will be held against your neck.

The carotid artery is imaged on a monitor and the blood flow speed is recorded and the appearance of the vessels is assessed.

Time required: approximately 30-45 minutes.

Preparations: None.

The results of the examination will be sent to your doctor.
