Our environmental work

Hjärt & Kärlcentrum conducts active environmental work and is environmentally certified according to ISO 14001:2015. To facilitate this work and meet the requirements of ISO 14001, we have drawn up an internal environmental manual with a description of management systems, goals and action plans. Our operations in Skärholmen are carried out in collaboration with Stena Recycling, which weighs each waste fraction and delivers statistics on an ongoing basis. Twice a year, a couple of hours are set aside for the entire staff for environmental issues and these are also discussed at all workplace meetings. Our environmental coordinator has one full day a month set aside for environmental work.

Our environmental policy

Healthcare plays an important role in environmentally sustainable long-term social development. Hjärt & Kärlcentrum strives to minimize our impact on the environment by continuously streamlining our use of resources, promoting recycling and reducing our energy consumption. We are committed to using environmentally friendly materials, techniques and processes and to training and involving our staff in sustainable working methods.

We shall:

  • avoid waste and conserve energy and other resources
  • reduce and prevent environmental impact from our use of pharmaceuticals, chemical products and consumables
  • use products that are safe for the external environment and human health
  • use efficient transport solutions
    minimize and sort our waste
  • purchase goods and services that have a low environmental impact and contribute to sustainable development
  • give our stakeholders the opportunity to see and influence our environmental work
  • comply with laws and other binding requirements that the business is subject to
  • encourage employees to actively work on the environment in the business
  • continuously improve the environmental management system with the aim of improving environmental performance
  • always keep the environment in mind in the respective parts of the business.

There is a specific action plan for each of these points.
